Vina Foods Kyoei (Japan) inaugurated a $ 7.45 million plant in the expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone

On September 29, 2017, Vina Foods Kyoei Co., Ltd. (Japan) inaugurated its Da Nang plant in the Expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Park with a size of 14,800m2 and total investment capital of $ 7.45 million. Attending the ceremony was Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Vina Foods Kyoei Co., Ltd. is a 100% Japanese invested enterprise, a member of Kyoei Foods Group which was established in 1967. With 13 factories in Japan, 2 factories in Thailand and 2 factories in Vietnam, Kyoei Foods Group is occupying 35% of Japan's fried flour market and exporting products to the fastidious markets of Australia, Europe and North America. Following success in Vietnam, the Da Nang factory was inaugurated with 50 employees, 1 electric roaster and 1 production line for drying and can produce enough powder to impregnate 20 million fried shrimps per year.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee noted the decision of the company to select Da Nang to invest in building a second factory in Vietnam (after Ho Chi Minh City) as well as efforts of the Company in speeding up construction to put the plant into operation. He expressed his belief that Vina Foods Kyoei Co., Ltd with deep experience in the food industry will market products of Japanese standard quality to serve consumers, creating more jobs for local people, thereby contributing to the economic growth of the city. Vice President Ho Ky Minh also requested the Company to comply with its commitments as a responsible investor, to ensure labor safety and regulations on food hygiene and safety and environmental protection and social security in the city. "The city is committed to support and create favorable conditions for the company to operate effectively, expand production and business", Mr. Minh said.

Also in the exciting atmosphere of the inauguration, Mr. Tran Ngoc Diep - General Director of SDN appreciated the professionalism, prestige, and always on schedule in the implementation of the cooperation as well as the plans set out by Kyoei Company. Mr. Diep also emphasized the belief that Kyoei Company will successfully and strongly develop its business in the Expanded Hoa Khanh Industrial Park like other Japanese enterprises in industrial parks managed by Sai Gon Investment Group. As the SDN’s leader, Mr. Diep once again pledged to always accompany, fulfill all obligations and make efforts to create the most favorable conditions to support Kyoei Company in the highest capacity throughout the project.

Up to September 2017, Japan has had the largest number of foreign direct investment projects in Da Nang with 141 projects with total capital of US $496 million, of which over 70% is manufacturing sector.
